Tributes have been paid to a young Retford man who died following a road traffic collision.
Connor Robert Riddell, 18, died at the scene of the collision, which occurred when the blue Citroen Saxo he was driving towards Retford left the A638 North Road and came to rest on its roof.
It happened at around 5.50pm on Sunday 15th September.
Coun Adele Mumby, who knew Connor, described his death as a tragic loss.
She said: “I knew Connor, he was a young lad who had a lot of respect and a lot of friends in Hallcroft.”
“Connor, and his friend Jordan, would often go round and cut other people’s hedges and grass for them.”
“He was a good kid,”
Coun Mumby said Connor turned his life around following the loss of his parents.
She said: “He lost his parents and he found that quite hard.”
“He was more than happy to help anybody.”
“He was always smiling and happy go lucky.”
“He will be missed around Hallcroft, you always used to see him out and about.”
“He helped the community, especially the elderly, he wanted to do anything he could to help.”
“He helped me when I set up a BMX track in Hallcroft.”
Two passengers were taken to hospital. A 20-year-old man is currently at Sheffield Northern General in a critical but stable condition. A teenager, 16, was taken to Bassetlaw District Hospital with minor injuries. He has since been discharged.
The road was closed while enquiries were carried out at the scene. It re-opened at around 1am today.
