A WORKSOP man has been ordered to pay more than £3,000 under the Proceeds of Crime Act after he was caught growing cannabis in his Chesterfield pub.
Mark Breen, 47, of Newcastle Avenue, was found growing cannabis plants in two upstairs rooms when police raided the Poolsbrook Hotel, Poolsbrook, in July last year.
They also found £3,232 in cash, which magistrates ordered to be forfeited after the landlord was unable to prove he obtained it legally. The cash will be shared between the Government and Derbyshire police.
Breen, who was jailed for 18 months in March for possessing cannabis and possessing cannabis with the intent to supply, has also been ordered to pay £2,166 costs.
