Nottinghamshire County Council’s Planning and Licensing Committee will continue its consideration of a planning application to drill the county’s first exploratory shale gas wells on November 15.

Consideration of the application by Island Gas Ltd, to drill up to two hydrocarbon wells on land off Springs Road, Misson in Bassetlaw, was adjourned at the Planning and Licensing Committee meeting on 5 October.

The adjournment was made to enable the committee to receive legal advice on a late representation by Friends of the Earth.

Prior to the suspension of the meeting, councillors heard presentations from County Council planners, Misson Parish Council, Frack Free Nottinghamshire, Island Gas Ltd and members of the public.

The agenda and reports are available to download from the Nottinghamshire County Council website.
