Creswell division of the St John’s Ambulance have been in the village for over 50 years.
During that time they have helped teach necessary life-saving techniques to the public young and old.
When the colliery was open, the division held its headquarters in the grounds and the coal board covered the cost of heating and electric.
When the colliery closed, the Creswell Division vacated their building and moved to the Social Centre on Elmton Road.
This group of nursing cadets are seen with their leaders in May 1961 and is taken from our book The Worksop Guardian - a Century to Remember.
