THE following is an extract from an email received from Aimee Miller about the Hepworth family taken from the Todwick History Society magazine.
“My name is Aimee Miller and am proud to introduce to you my Grandpa Bernard Dean Hepworth. Bernard is a man of God and lifelong farmer. He has friends who are missionaries in Haiti and takes frequent trips there with supplies and even shipped one of his tractors after the hurricane of 2008.
Bernard runs farms and raises cattle in Callao. MO, His dad Claude and Uncle Ted bought his first 120 acres when he was 16. To date he has over 3,000 acres, some of which he still farms himself. Apparently, our line of the Hepworth’s used to run the Red Lion Inn. About 10 years ago, Bernard, Yvonne, Penny and Bill Ed Yates visited Todwick and stayed at the Red Lion and started looking through the phone book calling all the Hepworths. A man called Bob Hepworth ended up meeting them and they spent the evening swapping stories.”
