COMMUNITY: Library - The Big Friendly Read

Saturday, July 16, 10am to 3pm.This year's summer reading challenge, the big friendly read, celebrates the books of Roald Dahl. Children from four plus can sign up to the challenge and take part in some Roald Dahl inspired craft activities at this drop-in event. The reading challenge runs until Sunday, September 11. Children will receive a collector's card when they join and the more books they read the more Roald Dahl goodies they'll collect along the way. When children have read six books they will be rewarded with a medal and completion certificate.

Every Thursday at 11am throughout the holidays children can join in with Roald Dahl inspired drop-in activities at the library. Look out for the Roald Dahl inspired displays in the library which children can help to decorate, stand in front of our wall chart to see which Roald Dahl character you measure up to, take part in hunt the character competition running throughout the summer to win Roald Dahl goodies and vote for your favourite Roald Dahl book.

Parents and other adults don’t need to miss out on the fun either because this year Worksop Library is running a reading challenge just for you. Read six library books alongside your children and be entered into a draw to win one of the fantastic prizes, which includes your choice of tickets to some September events, as well as other goodies. Pick up your collecting card when your children join and see who can finish their challenge first.
