NAMES of district and parish council candidates standing in the 5th May 2011 district elections have been published by Bassetlaw Council.
This year there are nine Tory seats, six Labour seats and one Independent ward up for grabs.
The authority is currently made up of 23 Conservative councillors, 22 Labour councillors and three Independents.
This means Labour only need to gain one net seat from the Tories to take control of the council.
Further details of contesting wards and party statements will be published in next week’s Worksop Guardian ahead of the 5th May poll.
In the meantime, names and details of candidates standing for individual wards in both district and parish council elections can be found by visiting www.bassetlaw,gov.uk
