Bosses from Lincolnshire Co-op will swop their business suits and briefcases for the shop floor working alongside food and pharmacy apprentices as part of National Apprenticeships Week 2012 which runs 6th to 10th February.

Head of people and performance Heather Lee said: “Apprenticeships attract talented and enthusiastic employees. They enable people who want to develop their skills to earn a wage while they learn, both on the job and through training.”

Adam Smith, 24, was a retail apprentice at the Scotter foodstore and is now a supervisor. “I went to a number of stores during my apprenticeship, learning about different management styles and the different ways of doing things.”
