Tenants in Bassetlaw are looking forward to a promising future after A1 Housing unveiled its new tenant compact.

A1 Housing is the organisation in charge of Bassetlaw Council’s housing stock, and after consultation with tenants has released the new document, which aims to build on its successful foundations.

Daily Facebook surgeries, scrutiny panels and an expansion of the A100 tenants’ club are part of the developing customer focus.

Chairman Michael Bowskill said: “We’ve achieved a great deal in the last seven years, and this new compact will help us continue to do that.

“By involving tenants we get a two-way conversation, and tenants can see the results - they say and we do.”

As Bassetlaw covers large rural areas, A1 has employed digital media to overcome difficulties for tenants unable to attend consulations.

Managing director Bernard Coleman said: “Our success has been down to our combination of private sector excellence with public sector ethos. With this new compact, we hope to continue in that vein.”
