Blyton: Field fire caused by ‘hot object’ falling from farm vehicle

Firefighters have been battling a field fire in Blyton caused by a ‘hot object’ falling from a farm vehicle.

Crews were called to a field on the A159, Gainsborough Road, Blyton, at around 11am on Saturday 1st November.

Local residents were asked to keep their doors and windows closed.

It is understood damage was caused to one hectare of straw and crews used two hose reels, one main jet and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames.
