Bassetlaw voluntary groups to face funding hit

VOLUNTARY organisations across Bassetlaw are facing major funding cuts of tens of thousands worth of pounds from April, it has been revealed today.

Groups which cater for vulnerable people such as the homeless, elderly and those suffering with mental health problems learnt they will face major reductions in grant aid from Notts County Council.

The authority will be awarding £2,079,988 in grant aid in 2010/11 - £1,076,357 less than the previous year.
