The cars visited three historic inns – the King William in Scafworth, The Bluebell inn Gringley on the Hill and The Blacksmith’s Arms in Clayworth – for free drinks courtesy of the Inn keepers, who all offered refreshing shots and Bucks fizz to all the 40 passengers on the trip.

Gordon Tulley, of Respect Carers Awards, said: “We were amazed how many turned out even in the rain which was rather heavy at times too”.

Alison Finch of Respect GB added: The next event is the main one, August Bank holiday, the 24th, where we will be giving lucky members of the public free passenger rides around Bawtry for Help for Heroes and our Respect Carers charity.

“This will be the second year we have organised the cars for the Respect Bawtry Revival.”
