The Central Band of the Army and Air Cadet Forces are back by popular demand with a combination of old and new familiar songs well as a spectacular white light display.
This year, however, they have something new to boast about - newly appointed cadet sergeant Hayley Fitzgerald.
The 18-year-old is currently studying Music Technology at North Notts College and was the first cadet at the Notts Cadet Force School of Musical Excellence to be put forward for grading exams.
Primarily a flautist in the Notts ACF’s Band, but also a drummer in the B Company Corps of Drums, Hayley’s unique talents came to light whilst on camp last year.
She and three male cadets took part in a cadet X Factor style talent competition, in the form of a rock band, with Hayley leading vocals.
She was encouraged to pursue her singing and as a result is in the latter stages of the auditions for the choir for the London 2012 Olympics.
Hayley and the Central Band will be performing at Nottingham’s Albert Hall on Saturday 14th May.
Tickets for the Cadet Concert, A Celebration of Musical Youth are now on sale by calling the concert hall on 0115 941 9419 or visiting www.NottsACF.co.uk.
