A SOLDIER from Worksop has died in a road accident whilst serving with the Queen's Royal Lancers in Iraq.
Sgt Wayne Rees, 36, of Pelham Street, Manton, died when an armoured vehicle he was travelling in crashed.

"A light-armoured vehicle was involved in a patrol. The vehicle left the road, we're not sure why, but having left the road it crashed," said Major Charlie Burbridge, spokesman for the multinational forces in Southern Iraq.
"The vehicle's commander sustained injuries which resulted in his death."

He added that two other men, who were in the vehicle at the time, are being treated at a field hospital in Basra with minor injuries. This death brings the total loss of British troops in Iraq, to 128 since the conflict began.
