A DRUG dealer caught selling heroin to an under-cover police officer in Worksop has been jailed for five years and eight months.
Edwin Wilson, 35, had been jailed three times in the past for drugs offences, Nottingham Crown Court was told.
In February and March this year, he was caught during police operation Stratum when officers made test purchases of drugs, said prosecutor Paul Stimpson on Wednesday.
Wilson was involved in supplying heroin on Milton Drive and later from his home on Byron Way, Worksop, on two occasions.
On the first occasion an under-cover officer was sold a single wrap of heroin taken from a larger stash, the court was told.
On the second occasion £100 worth of heroin was handed over. Wilson was arrested on 16th June and £640 cash, that was found at his home, was ordered by Judge Dudley Bennett to be forfeited.
In 2004, Wilson had been jailed for three-and-a-half years for similar offences under Operation Encounter. His barrister, Michael Evans, said Wilson pleaded guilty to supplying heroin and being concerned in the supply of the drug and was sorry.
Judge Bennett said he could have passed a slightly longer sentence and Wilson could not have complained if his breach of a suspended sentence, imposed for a sexual assault, had been activated.
