Void in road forces closure of B6034 to Worksop

HIGHWAYS officials have closed off the B6034 from Carburton crossroads to Worksop to investigate a mysterious hole in the road.
The stretch of road was closed off last Friday after a void appeared under the surface of the carriageway.
The hole is around two metres deep and one metre wide.
A highway spokesman for Notts County Council said officers had excavated the road down to firm ground.
"This will now be backfilled and compacted, and the road will be resurfaced by the end of the week," said the spokesman.
The road will remain closed until further notice.
