STUDENTS at Serlby Park school were also jumping for joy, with an increase in the number of them gaining top grades.
Principal David Harris, says he is pleased with the results this year.

"We have a higher proportion this year of children achieving marks in the top results band," he said.

"The hard work of all is reflected in the results, with some students having stunning sets of marks. They have a bright future ahead of them."

He added: "We are still awaiting results of some of our vocational courses, but we are confident that we will achieve a pass rate as good as, if not better than last year."

Sophie Edwards, 16, of Bessacarr, Doncaster, is over the moon about her seven A*s, two As and a B grade scoop.

"Serlby Park has done me proud," she said. "All the hard work has paid off."

Sherrean Askham, 16, of Bircotes, got three Bs and five Cs, with an A in drama.

"The teachers have been fantastic," she said.

"I couldn't have done it without Mrs Edwards, my mentor. She has been amazing."
