OAP who died after accident

POLICE have named the Langold pensioner who was killed after his mobility scooter was in collision with a dustbin truck.
Derek Baines, 76, of Mellish Road, had been travelling along Mellish Road in his mobility scooter on Thursday 10th July when he was involved in a collision with a Bassetlaw Council refuse truck.
He suffered multiple serious injuries and later died at Bassetlaw Hospital.
Chief executive of the council David Hunter said: “Because the police are currently carrying out an investigation into the incident, there is not much we can say at the current time except to extend our deepest sympathies to Mr Baines’ family.”
The Guardian made efforts to contact the deceased’s relatives but they did not wish to comment at this time.
