TWO parts of North East Derbyshire saw parish councillors go head to head in yesterday's local elections.
Voters in Clowne elected Independent candidate Allan Bailey with 487 votes, ahead of the Labour's Barbara Passey who received 311.

It was a clear win for Ken Astle, the Whitwell Residents' Association candidate who received 517 votes, over Labour candidate Jeanne Marjorie Raspin who got 258.

Both will now represent their communities on their parish councils.
