A DERELICT factory in Harworth has been blazing since four o'clock this morning (Sunday).
Firefighters have been tackling the fire at SLI Glass on Snape Lane for hours.
Retford station manager Wayne Cook said that the fire started in the office complex area of the unused three-storey building.
"When we got here, there was a severe fire involving all three floors, which spread to the roof," said Mr Cook.
"It was a case of getting enough resources here to fight it."
Fire appliances and crews from Worksop, Retford, Harworth, Maltby, Mansfield, Beeston and Misterton fire stations attended the incident.
Mr Cook added that the unused building was being protected by a security guard. Firefighters became concerned for his safety when they arrived as he could not be found. He was later discovered safe and sound.
It is thought the blaze will be fully extinguished by about midday today. Nobody was hurt and it is not yet clear what caused the fire.
