NEIL ENTWISTLE has been found GUILTY in the first degree of murdering his wife and baby.
At 8pm BST the jury returned a verdict of guilty on all four charges on Worksop man Neil Entwistle for the murders of his wife Rachel and nine month old daughter Lillian Rose.

Entwistle remained calm as the verdict was read out and expressed little emotion. He shook his head slightly and muttered "guilty" in disbelief as the verdict was read out, closed his eyes then looked to his family, opened his palms and shrugged his shoulders.

As the jury filed out of court, both brother Russell and mother Yvonne refused to stand with their husband and the rest of the people in court.

The Entwistle family was then hounded out to the lift and Cliff, a Bassetlaw district councillor, told the pack they would make a statement outside.

As Rachel's family left court many held hands and wept.

After speaking to a mass of media out the front of Middlesex Superior Court, Cliff, Yvonne and Russell were chased by a media pack as they calmly returned to their hotel.

Entwistle's lawyers have since made a statement outside court criticising the jury selection process.

Defence lawyer Elliot Weinstein said the verdict will be appealed, a mandatory process for first degree murder in the US.

He added that it had been a very sad case for both families involved.
"I am confident the case will meet a successful review in the supreme court because of that we cannot comment about the trial evidence and will not," he said.

"We believe that under a different environment people selected to hear this evidence would have reached a different result."

Elliott Weinstein says under a different environment the jury might have come to a different result. Had he mounted a defense, any defense, that might also have been true, but he no doubt knew that those witnesses would not have held up under cross examination. In fairness to Weinstein, I don't think he had much to work with in his client and did the very best he could.

A good verdict ~ and such a vile defence (blaming his wife but without taking the stand). Also the Editor's interview on BBC Radio 5 today suggesting US law is somehow inferior to UK law ~ utter tosh. I hope Entwistle fries.

I am born and bred Worksop, this family should except there son is a murderer, the statement his parents did yesterday left me totally disgusted, why wait until now to state that poor woman was depressed just because there precious murdering son has been rightly convicted of killing his wife and small child.
I am sorry but if i had just been convicted of a double murder and i know i am innocent i would not be sat there without any motion i would have been screaming my innocence from the roof tops and putting my case across to the world but no he didn`t want his sordid dirty secret life to come out.
LET RACHEL & LILLIAN REST IN PEACE,
He should be sent to the toughest prison America has got.
Entwistle Family accept your not so perfect son murdered your Daughter in Law and your Grandchild don`t tarnish Rachels memory, it`s your son you should be venting your anger too he caused this no-one else.
MY PRAYERS GO TO RACHEL`S FAMILY I APOLIGISE ON BEHALF OF THE PEOPLE OF WORKSOP FOR THAT MONSTER.

Defense Atty Elliot Weinstein is an evil creep. No, Yvonne, your daughter-in-law didn't do it - YOUR EVIL SOCIOPATH SON DID. Better watch Russell - hopefully he won't show signs of sociopathy, like his evil brother.

"I hope Entwistle fries." --Alfster

Oh yeah. Unfortunately he won't because MA doesn't have the DP. But, maybe he'll "fry" in another way - Inmates who hate child-murderers, are you listening?

Although the Neil Club sees everything Entwistle in a rosy light, this is one Boston Attorney’s opinion of the performance by Mama Entwistle:

And once again, we have been shown in garish detail how unknowable the human mind (or heart) is: What it is that enables human beings, who otherwise give off not the slightest hint of mental illness or evil, to commit such acts with seemingly no remorse. It is equally horrific – and shameful – to have witnessed Neil Entwistle’s mother, Yvonne Entwistle – stand before a bank of cameras and microphones, and publicly accuse Rachel Entwistle of “murdering” her granddaughter, despite more evidence convicting her son that any prosecutor could ever dream of. How grossly egotistical, and pathetic.

Grossly egotistical, and pathetic. Could not have said it better myself.
