Have your say

IT SEEMS like only yesterday that laughter and excited children’s screams could be heard coming from the Canch’s open air swimming pool.

Back in the 1930s it proved very popular with children who visited daily during the Summer months some even before they went to school, as well as during their school lessons.

Although the water was always very cold they didn’t mind paying the 4d admission fee to splash around with their friends and have the time of their life.

Sadly, the pool is no longer and today has attractive gardens and a splash pool in its place

It is definitely true to say that Those certainly Were The Days!
