Traffic chaos caused by council Sun readers

HERE we go again... yet more traffic chaos on the roads of Worksop.

This time our good friends at Notts County Council, ever eager to use up their year-end budget on pointless roadworks, have suddenly decided to cause havoc on the A57 bypass.

On Tuesday, they sealed off one lane on BOTH sides of the dual carriageway bit from Sainsburys to the Millhouse roundabout, for the whole day.

And for what reason?

So that half a dozen bright yellow NCC lorries and vans could park up in the closed-off lane and... er... well, that's it.

When I crawled past in the massive tailbacks, there was precious sign of any activity from these 'work crews', other than the strenuous opening of flasks and the careful examination of The Sun.

What a pointless and irritating waste of time!

They still had the cones out Wednesday morning, but with one difference... all the NCC vehicles had disappeared.

Presumably they were all at the nearby McDonalds drive-thru.
