Package holiday fun

LINDRICK players are hoping to transport their audience from the current wet and cold to the Italian Riviera in their latest production Fish Out of Water, from Thursday 15th to Saturday 17th May.
It promises to be a play with which many of us can identify, as it explores the horror of package holidays in which we have had to endure boisterous holiday makers, not to mention foreign food, double bookings, late flights and the language barrier.
Publicity officer for the group Sarah Hemsall said the show would be an evening of uproarious and good, clean family fun.
”This play has all the ingredients of a package holiday and the audience will easily recognise many of the characters from their own holiday experiences,” she said.
Fish Out of Water is a comedy set in the peaceful atmosphere of the romantic sun-drenched hotel Floreat on the idyllic Italian Riviera, which is shattered by the arrival of outspoken widow, Agatha Hepworth, and her timid sister, Fiona.
Agatha crushes all protests as she rounds up the hotel guests into communal cricket matches on the beach and there is even talk of an ‘It’s a Knock Out’ competition.
Her unflagging spirit of togetherness doesn’t take long to invade the lives of the other varied characters with riotous results!
Tickets for the production, which starts at 7.30pm on all three nights, cost £5.50 for adults and £4 for concessions when pre-booked, and £6.50 and £4.50 if paid on the door. For tickets and further information call 01909 730341.
If you fancy getting involved in the Lindrick Players for their forthcoming shows, pop along to Carlton Village Hall on Monday 19th May.
