Image Musical Theatre retell the tale of three youngsters who, in the midst of family drama, fall in love with a railway and make friends with those who work there.

After their daddy is taken away, the children and their mother are forced to fall back on their own recources to survive. They have to leave London for a small house in the north country.

Many adventures follow, but the mystery of their father’s disappearance remains.

The first act is a light-hearted rehearsal workshop for the whole audience, where the cast introduce themselves and then pick a dozen children from the audience to join in and learn the choruses from the songs.

After an interval, they are all able to take part as rehearsed in the 60-minute show.

The Railway Children plays at the theatre, on Queen Street, on Saturday 13th June at 7.30pm. Tickets are £7, with children £5 and family tickets for up to two adults and two children £21. Call the box office on 01909 501817 or visit www.acorntheatre.net to order
