TWO men tried a knifepoint robbery in Harworth - only for their 'victim' to push them away and escape in his car.

The pair confronted the man, who is from the Scunthorpe area, as he was getting out of his car on Arundel Walk, last Friday (6th) at about 9.45am.

One offender demanded he hand over his mobile phone, while the other threatened him with a knife.

Police have appealed for help in tracing the two men. The first was white, about 5ft 7ins, of medium build, and was wearing a hooded top and jeans at the time.

The second man was also white, around 5ft 11ins tall and very thin. He was wearing a black tracksuit top and jeans.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or recognises the description of the offenders, should call Sgt Nikki Mayo at Retford Police Station on 01909 500999 ext 7464.

Alternatively, ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
