My column this week differs somewhat from the usual recipe format, in that it's about a trip I made to Nonna's Italian restaurant in Sheffield and the great film we made while we were there.

Nonna's has been a popular fixture on Ecclesall Road since 1996, and in our video you can see interviews with its management and chefs, along with a fantastic demonstration of one of their dishes - herb encrusted rack of lamb with crushed potatoes and Tempura black pudding.

We also look at how the business has grown from its simple origins 13 years ago when it was opened as a coffee shop and deli.

Since then the empire of owners Maurizio Mori and Gian Bohan has expanded to include Nonna's 'Cuccina' shop and the businessmen have launched their own book and even offer a Nonna's holiday home in Italy.

The Nonna's book is so much more than a recipe book - although it does include some of your Italian favourites.

Inside is a history of Nonna's and of the Italian food philosophy captured in words and exquisite photography.
