The trajectory was not properly established. It was the subject of much testimony and cross by SP. In fact the definition of what 'trajectory' is was even discussed in terms of angles.

There is no physiological reason to discount suicide per the evidence (vs a shot between the shoulder blades...an example given during trial as comparision)

Hey, HerWeGoAgain! nice to see ya!.
Interesting diagram, the bullet trajectory. It makes sense to me: Rachel was laying on her left side, she pulled the trigger from that position, the bullet travelled in a diagonal direction. That's consistent with suicide. If Neil had killed Rachel she had fought back after hearing the explosion of the gun, she had got up. she had time, her wound to the left breast was not life threatening. There were no signs of any struggle/ Think of the position of her body on the bed. Why Neil would be so stupid to kill the baby first and take the risk to have Rachel fighting back ?. Remember, the baby died first. I have no doubts in my mind about Rachel killing the baby first, and then killing herself. The body was found by police laying on her back. Dr. Zane said on his report that the body was moved. Lividity on her back is the proof. So, the baby was laying on her left side, her body against her mother's when she died. Question: WHO moved the body of the baby ? Was it Rachel's friend, Joanna GATELY when she broke-in the house in the morning of January 21, 2006 and went into the master bedroom by herself, watched tv in the living room along with her sister. WHAT Gately did in that master bedroom? SHE HAD to smell the odour of death there: the bodies had been there for about 24 hours, there was blood on them, heat ( they were under a comforter), the bodies were decomposing, but she HID from the court that fact, she LIED and got away with it. I cannot buy her tale of being a good friend, and that was her reason for her to summon the police to Rachel's house, just because Rachel was not home to have dinner with her. C'mon, let's get real, she knew about something, something that maybe could have exonerated Neil from any responsibility in those deaths. The defense failed to grill her as they should. The crime scene was CONTAMINATED before the authorities officially found the bodies on January 22, 2006: Hopkinton police and Joanna Gately and

her sister had been already inside the house. Neil's conviction should be revocated. One of the grounds for appeal. One of many.

Mir..i agree with everything you have said,i really do fear for Neil in that jail, imagine the pain he is in knowing that his wife took her own life and that of his beautiful baby girl? I do hope that an appeal is already in and that Neil will be granted that appeal because an miscarriage of justice has taken place and the wrong man is behind bars,
has anyone heard anything from Mr.&.Mrs Entwistle lately,I hope they are ok and fighting for their INNOCENT son with everything within them,

There is no evidence that the baby was shot first.
If the bruising on the breast is troubling you, google post-mortem contusions.

Jason, it's Dr. Zane who said the baby died first, it's on his autopsy report.

I listened again thru Dr. Zane's testimony and he never testifies to the order of the deaths.
(Could you have meant that the single bullet went thru the baby before going into the mother's breast? As opposed to the order of the two separate shots.)
