On the 12th day of the Neil Entwistle double murder trial two friends of Entwistle's were called as witnesses.
And we have the photo of the university friends from long before the tragic events of January 2006.

Pictured here with double murderer Neil Entwistle are his old university chums Mr Dashiel Munding and Mr Benjamin Pryor.

The friends met whilst rowing at York University club the same place where Entwistle met his future wife Rachel, 27.

Both men saw Entwistle in the days before his arrest when he fled back to the UK before he was extradited.

They were called to Middlesex County Superior Court in Woburn, US, to testify about Entwistle's behaviour in the run up to his arrest.

He was found guilty last Wednesday of the shootings of his wife and their baby daughter Lillian back on 20th January 2006.

Entwistle has now been sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.

Just curious. Isn't your paper interested in the appeals and the eventual new trial, especially if his parents push the issue with a new lawyer and by writing a book?

Do you think the SJC in MA is crooked and has decided this case before the papers have been filed? Just wondering.

Do you realize that the official transcript from the whole trial will be part of the record on appeal? Is your transcript legally official? Why are you selective in printing transcripts? How about the entire transcripts of NE two conversations with police or Ms. Pages cross examination of the Medical Examiner.

I am puzzled by your ignoring the fact that this case is in the appeal stage and nothing will be added to the trial record until there is a new trial. But then again, Trial by Media is supposed to be a violation of the Due Process Clause of the US Constitution. The media didn't care about violating due process rights for 2.5 years prior to the trial, so why should they care now? I hope that the violation is one of the issues on appeal.
Wouldn't it be great if some in the media were held accountable? I mean there is a tension between freedom of the press and free speech and the due process clause .
So many questions. I hope someone can answer.

fairbrit...i think neil is innocent, and i can sleep very well thanks,i just want to see fairness for Neil and i do not think he got a fair trial, its nothing against Rachel and Lillian,i just see it differently than you...
I dont know Neil, but i followed the story from the beginning and i thought something is not right from the start and i still dont think its all as it should be,someone is telling lies other than neil and not enough investigating was done in my opinion, not that my opinion matters ...

Jalamity,

Sorry...he already had a fair trial and ample opprotunity to lie his way out, which he failed at miserably, (Not unlike his life, I imagine).

He killed his wife and baby because he disliked them. They kept him from his fantasy world of women and money, neither of which he could get.

What kind of person comes home to find his family shot and does not summon assistance?...the kind of person who shot them in the first place.

One thing in his favor, he won't have to worry about lack of sex in Walpole, he will be putting out plenty.

My pal is a DOC guard in CJ and they have been salivating at the thought of his arrival...:)

"Jalamity, NE is a highly trained professional. He had no motive for killing his wife and adored his baby. Why would he have destroyed his life. If this were homicide, and it was not, it has to be the most poorly planned homicide in history."

Being a "highly trained professional" does not automatically assume one has the maturity or coping skills to live in the real world. Evidence of fact is that and IT prof would certainly have known that evidence of web searches could be used against him, yet he failed to cover that up. Clear indication of his lack of "highly trained" credentials and joblessness.

He certainly was not up to the challenge of being a man and supporting a family either. He rented a house and leased a car and lied about it to everyone. Personality traits like that are usually indicative of a person with low self esteem and lack of initiative. A poor head of house hold in the making if you ask me.

In reference to the prison comment, it's the inmates who are salivating, the guards could care less i'm sure.

My advice to you is simple...

Abandon your support for this monster. He killed his wife and six month old baby. He was more concerned about getting others to evaluate the size of their genatalia than he was in supporting his family.

He is a liar and a killer of innocent women and children. He is a coward who left his family dead in their house and went home to Mommy without the slightest hesitation.

If you want to support him, my advice to you would be send him a case of Marlboro's...Maybe he can buy his way out of what's to come in prison.
