We’re being ripped off!
Travelling around on Sunday 29th January, I noticed that in Rotherham, the diesel was 137.7p/l at Asda on the A630 (Mushroom Roundabout).
Having paid 142.9p/l at Jet in Worksop I was a bit miffed to say the least. It gets worse, I thought I would check out the ever so reasonable rail fares (yeah right).
Based on two adults travelling: Worksop to Derby return £37.40 (change at Sheffield). BUT Worksop to Sheffield £8.80 and Sheffield to Derby £20.40 making it £29.20 FOR EXACTLY THE SAME JOURNEY! Even more incredible is that if you go to Nottingham £15.40 and Nottingham to Derby £13.60 it’s only £29 total!
I use the term “only” very loosely. So not only are we being ripped off for the petrol, we are being ripped off at the railway station as well. That’s what you call an “integrated transport rip off”. It seems every time you try to get a ticket from Worksop you get an extra surcharge. Why?
If you don’t believe me check out www.nationalrail.co.uk
Now then Mr Mann, MP there’s something for your staff to check out!

Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 04:07 PMI was trying to show that Worksop people are being treated unfairly compared to other places, not about the absolute level of the cost of fuel which is driven by HMG duty and VAT. EU policy on the grave mistake of so called global warming is also pushing the price up and do not forget VAT is an EU bogey tax first introduced in the then EEC April 11, 1967. Visit UAE, Qatar etc. and it's less than 50p per litre, cheaper than water. Everywhere you look the EU is the problem and not the solution. Changing the government amongst LabConDem does nothing until we get out of the EU and if you want to do that I will be in front of you not behind...

Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:54 AMasda is not ripping you off, tesco is not ripping you off, they are all fighting for a few pence, but i do know who is ripping you off, THE BLOODY GOVERNMENT!!! with 80% tax on fuel, stop squabbling about a few pence and lets all get together and fight the proper culprits, but my guess is when i turn round none of you will be there, you will carry on squabbling about a few pence here and there!!!! WELL?
