It’s old news
It was interesting to see local petrol prices make your front page news. It is rather an old story though, at least as far as I’m concerned! I have been buying my petrol from the two filling stations on the A57 in South Anston and occasionally from Morrisons at Crystal Peaks for well over a year. Both are nearly always 2p and sometimes 3p per litre cheaper than any in Worksop.
You don’t need to look as far as Mansfield or Dinnington, the South Anston pumps are only just over two miles from the Gateford Road/by-pass roundabout, making the journey cost-effective even for quite small amounts. Come on Worksop drivers, let your wheels do the talking as The Guardian says. The only way our petrol prices will come down is if Sainsbury and Tesco and the rest of them are confronted with empty forecourts.
And sorry, but I’m not convinced that a new Asda will make any difference, if they think they can get away with it, they’ll charge the same price as the other two.
