Getting it off my chest. . .
i’ve three quirks to get off my chest in this week’s Guardian news.
The first being: Where was our Bassetlaw MP the afternoon of 6th February 2012?
Certainly not in Parliament speaking up for his constituents as many other MPs from all political parties were, stating and disagreeing with the Government cut backs on police deficiencies. In my opinion, he should have been there fighting our corner. We residents all know that we haven’t had a full police force for a good few years now what with half of our force being deployed to Nottingham. We’ve lost our beat bobby in town and look what’s happened to our police station, try to get in touch with Worksop station on a night!
So, Mr J. Mann, may I suggest due to you not being present at Parliament Question Time, make sure you let our Prime Minister as you say you do, know of your constituents’ plight on insufficient PCs in Bassetlaw! This will do more good than you pondering what to write about in your weekly Guardian column.
My second gripe is NCC Councillor G. Gilfoyle’s suggestion and what a coincidence, regarding police deficiency written on page 11 of last week’s Guardian. He has the audacity to ask residents in Nottinghamshire to cough up more taxes (small as he states) to help fund for more PCs. Again in my opinion, what we pay at present is too much talk about value for money. So Mr Gilfoyle, I suggest that you and the other 66 county councillors volunteer to surrender £9,800 each from your £10,000 yearly community allowance to keep the force fully manned.
The third gripe is, I entirely agree with Grundi’s reply regarding the coloured flag flying above the town hall!
