A DEDICATED volunteer from Morton has been praised after picking up a top award for St John’s Ambulance.

James Ward, 18, from Morton, has won the Grand Prior Award at the Gainsborough St John Ambulance Division’s annual ceremony. The Grand Prior Award is the highest award that a Cadet can gain - and James has been involved since he was 10-years-old.

To gain his top prize, James had to complete 24 subjects - from first aid to outdoor pursuits.

James said: “I am extremely proud to achieved this.”

“St John’s Ambulance has been in my family for generations, so this means the world. I would like to thank my family and friends for their support.”
