Masterchef competition at Welbeck
Students from West Notts College took part in a Masterchef style challenge at the School of Artisan Food, Welbeck (w110609-3b)
the School of Artisan Food in Welbeck played host to a Masterchef style competition for cookery students last week.
The students from West Notts College were put into teams and were each given a budget to spend on ingredients from the Welbeck farm shop.
They then battled it out to be named top chef by producing a three course meal in the School’s state of the art kitchens and training rooms.
The meals were judged by acting-head of the School Sheila Russell, Bassetlaw Council chairman Coun David Challinor, and Neil Wilson, the chef tutor at Notts College.
They were judged on the dishes’ individuality, taste, presentation and the team’s teamwork effort.
The winning team won a chance to study on one of the school’s famous one-day courses in areas such as cheese making, chocolate, patisserie, butchery and baking.
